Benito Canales was born in the city of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.  Inspired since he was young, he started singing and participating in festivals which have given him an array of awards, including first place in the song festival of Nuevo Leon.

His first album titled "Mi primer Ilusion" is definitely one which he demonstrates his abilities as a singer that would no doubt lead him to a great success.

This CD was produced by Sirak Miguel Baloyan, who also wrote the songs for the entire album: "A Donde puedo ir sin ti", "Un Ratito mas", "Dime que me quieres", "Una vez mas", "Quiero saber", "A esa mujer", "Dame un poquito de ti", "Enamorado", "Un segundo de ti" and "Todo fue un sueno."

His video titled, "Un ratito mas" (his first hit single) was recently recorded in the pueblo Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico at the tequila Herradura factory. Cocula, Jalisco at the Rancho San Diego Hacienda was also a great site for Benito's scene riding a horse.

Benito recently concluded his California promotional tour (radio, TV, press). He is also due to appear in world famous Univision's TV program "Sabado Gigante" next month. Also, on August 16th 1999 he will perform in Univision's very popular "Despierta America" program as well as many other national Telemuno programs.
